David Holstein joined the Board of the Wyandotte County Parks Foundation in November 2024. He was born and raised in Southern California, but has lived in Kansas City, Kansas since 2019. He is a financial advisor employed by First State Bank and Trust where he works with clients to help them financially plan and prepare for life’s major events, from the birth of a child through retirement and the various stages in between.

David believes that safe, clean, accessible local parks encourage an active and healthy lifestyle for residents while fostering a connection to nature. He also believes they are particularly beneficial for young children as they develop their motor skills and appreciation of the natural world.

David plans to use his financial background and analytical approach to life’s challenges to benefit the Park Foundation’s mission to guide charitable giving to improve community health and well-being and protect cultural and natural resources within Wyandotte County.

David is a second-generation Mexican American who is fluent in Spanish. He appreciates the diverse population of Kansas City, Kansas, especially the abundance of Mexican cuisine which makes him feel right at home. He lives there with his wife and four children who were all born in Wyandotte County. They enjoy the outdoors and regularly visit both Wyandotte County Park and Wyandotte County Lake.
